Supply-Only Lawn Edging

For those able to lay the steel edging themselves, we offer self-installed lawn edging. This is marginally different from the steel lawn edging that our teams install, but still offers that same seamless finish.

The supply-only lawn edging is connected using a unique tube and brace connector system, and only basic tools are needed to install it.

What are the Advantages of Metal Lawn Edging?

There are a number of advantages to using metal edging instead of other materials, such as:

Steel edging lasts for decades, making our steel edging a stunning long-term investment.

Your garden or gravel will be easily supported by the strength of the steel, which can withstand all weather conditions.

Steel can be installed to follow the edges of your garden. Whether your garden has natural flowing curves or sturdy straight lines, our steel lawn edging will meet your requirements.

Our premium steel lawn edging has a professional finish, which allows the edging to blend naturally into your garden.

Connections between steel edgings are smooth, and nearly completely invisible. Not only is this visually pleasing, but this also ensures your steel lawn edging is strong throughout.

What finishes are available for my edging?

There are two different edging finishes available, these are Mild and CorTen. In addition to this, we also offer painted and galvanised edging, please get in touch with our team for more details.

Mild Steel

Mild steel is extremely durable, and over time evolves into an attractive golden patina. Its durability is beneficial during extreme weather conditions and will last for many years with no maintenance required.

CorTen Steel

CorTen steel is perfect for outdoors, and is favoured by garden designers.

Over time, CorTen steel develops a stunning copper hue. An extra benefit of this is it adds a protective layer to your lawn steel edging.

Moreover, the protective layer helps prevent your edging from corrosion, whilst sustaining its toughness and durability.

Another benefit of CorTen steel is that no further maintenance is required once it’s been installed. It will last for a lifetime depending on the thickness of steel you choose.

How do I measure my lawn for edging installation?

The easiest way to measure your lawn is to simply use a measuring tape and measure each side. However, if there is a curve in your lawn, you could lay some rope or string along the space you require your edging to be. This means as you measure, you will be able to include the distance added by curves, too.

Steel Lawn Edging FAQs

Metal edging is the best solution for edging your flower beds. Its strength and durability make metal edging a long-term viable investment that lasts a lifetime.

Mild and CorTen steel are perfect for path edging and garden beds, developing a copper patina through weathering over time, which naturally blends into your garden.

Your steel garden edging will last for decades. The thickness of steel you choose will also have an impact on the durability of your edging.

Correctly installed steel edging will be equipped at a lower height than your lawn, which means there will be no issues when cutting your grass.

Anytime from a few weeks to 4 months, your edging will develop a golden patina. However, the patina on CorTen steel helps prevent corrosion, and your edging will preserve its tensile strength.

The answer to this question depends on how much protrusion above the soil you require. It is recommended that the metal edging is 50-75mm below grade. This is to ensure maximum stability, and also contains grass roots.

Bespoke Design and Fabrication

In addition to our steel products, we offer a Bespoke Design service that offers you the opportunity to create an exclusive steel product for your garden. During the process, we produce a 3D image of the product, including all the technical details, to meet your requirements.

This ensures that you’re happy with the bespoke design before it is manufactured by a team of skilled steel fabricators at our fabrication unit in Leicestershire.
