Each piece of edging is crafted in our Leicestershire-based fabrication unit using the highest quality steel. Edging orders can be purchased for supply only, or can be installed by our specialist teams across the UK.

We recommend a thickness of at least 5mm for your lawn edging to ensure your edging is hardy.

Steel Types

There are two different edging finishes available, these are Mild and CorTen. In addition to this, we also offer painted and galvanised edging, please get in touch with our team for more details.

Mild Steel

Mild steel is extremely durable, and over time evolves into an attractive golden patina. Its durability is beneficial during extreme weather conditions and will last for many years with no maintenance required.

CorTen Steel

CorTen steel is perfect for outdoors, and is favoured by garden designers.

Over time, CorTen steel develops a stunning copper hue. An extra benefit of this is it adds a protective layer to your lawn steel edging.

Moreover, the protective layer helps prevent your edging from corrosion, whilst sustaining its toughness and durability.

Another benefit of CorTen steel is that no further maintenance is required once it’s been installed. It will last for a lifetime depending on the thickness of steel you choose.

How Do I Measure My Lawn for Edging Installation?

The easiest way to measure your lawn is to simply use a measuring tape and measure each side. However, if there is a curve in your lawn, you could lay some rope or string along the space you require your edging to be. This means as you measure, you will be able to include the distance added by curves, too.

This edging uses a unique system that allows each piece of steel to be seamlessly connected with a steel plate, stud bolt and nut connection. Only basic tools are required to see your edging installed.

We advise that high torque power tools such as impact drivers are not used during installation.

How will my edging arrive?

At Steel Landscaping Co., we will always aim to deliver your items as quickly and as safely as possible. Our entire catalogue of products is made to order, as such, some delivery times may vary. 

We aim to deliver all goods within 14 days of accepting the order. We will do our best to fit our delivery schedule around your requirements. If you have a specific deadline, feel free to get in touch with us and we will try to accommodate.

We always recommend you do not plan your installation date until the product has been delivered.

We typically deliver goods using our preferred haulage company. Your order will be delivered on pallets. Please ensure that you have the appropriate off-loading facilities to take a rigid lorry with the correct machine to lift your pallet off the lorry. Each pallet will be under 1000kg. 

Alternatively, if you do not have access to lifting machinery, then we ask that you have 2 competent people to hand lift your products from the delivery lorry. 

If you do not have the following facilities or two competent people to lift your products, please contact our team, and we will be happy to supply your edging in 2-metre lengths.

If access to your delivery address is restricted, please let us know when speaking to our team.

Deliveries are made from Monday – Friday, excluding bank holidays and weekends.

How Is Lawn Edging Different to Other Edging Types?

When shopping for your lawn edging, the main factor you must take into consideration more than you might with other edging types is the overall height of the product. This is because you also need to consider how to properly maintain your lawn.

If you purchase edging too tall for your lawn, you will inhibit your efforts of properly caring for your lawn. As such, you should make sure you properly measure for your desired edging height before purchasing the product.
