Hampton Mediterranean Garden, RHS Chelsea Flower Show

Background

Well known estate agents Hamptons partnered with Garden Club London to put together Hamptons Mediterranean Garden.

The design was created by RHS Chelsea Flower Show debut designer Filippo Dester and veteran, four-time Gold winning designer, Tony Woods.

The garden’s architecture has been inspired by the sights, sounds and landscapes of Filippo’s native Italy, where the emphasis of food, family and sharing are typical of a Mediterranean upbringing.

Brief

The design of the garden featured an outdoor living space, which really evoked the look and feel of calm, warm temperatures, complete with a functioning kitchen and dining area.

We were asked to contribute our expertise in steel design and fabrication on a number of items that the designers were looking for to compliment the greens of the foliage, the whites and purples of flowers in bloom and the beige and oranges of the walls.

What We Did

We designed, fabricated and installed a bespoke steel pergola for the garden, which was installed overlooking the garden’s kitchen and dining area. The shine of the steel against the bright colours of the rest of the space contrasted perfectly and created a real feature within the garden.

We were also tasked with designing and fabricating some smaller bespoke pieces, which were considered to be important to the overall aesthetic of the garden, these were the custom steel spouts and carcassing for the water feature.
